Document Work (MLA)

This course has given me the opportunity to improve upon many aspects of literacy. Of these aspects the MLA format is something which I have become very familiar with. When entering the term I had very little idea of what the MLA format is composed of. However, after utilizing resources such as The Little Seagull by Francine Weinberg, Michal Brody, and Richard Bullock, as well as, homework assignments which allowed us to practice using skills such as citing source. Citing sources is crucial to writing because it prevents any accidental academic dishonesty, as well as, giving the proper credit for who’s information you are using in your paper. Additionally, properly integrating quotes is a critical skill which I have developed throughout this course. Paragraph revision assignments, as well as, the Barclay’s formula paragraphs have helped me develop my skills in quote integration. Examples of proper citations, and quote integrations can be seen in my species report which can be found in the bio lab project folder, and my literacy narrative analysis, which can be found in my english 110 folder.
