new students do not realize that literature in scientific discourse is not written with a specific reason for a specific situation.They see the information as independent resources.Haas practices one concept of the discourse so the reader can see first hand the concept which she is discussing.Haas is once again implying that scientific discourse is written with a specific intent.students do not see how scientific text connects with other texts.Haas’ idea that when engaging in scientific literature or discourse you should have knowledge of the discourse prior to engaging this is similar to Gee’s idea of metaknowledge.
